US poll: Over 70% of people believe that the US economy is struggling

According to Global Times reporters, several of these seven entities are related to integrated circuit research and development enterprises. Among them, Xi'an Microelectronics Technology Research Institute is mainly engaged in the research and development, mass production support, testing and operation of three major specialties: computer, semiconductor integrated circuit, and hybrid integrated circuit. Its products cover fields such as aerospace, aviation, shipbuilding, electronics, and nuclear industry. Zhuhai Obit Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in the research and production of aerospace electronics, micro nano satellite constellations, satellite big data, artificial intelligence technology and products, serving multiple fields such as aerospace, geographic information, and land resources.

Aerospace expert Huang Zhicheng stated in an interview with Global Times on the 24th that the US government has previously imposed sanctions on China's Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and related units of the Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, with sanctions more biased towards the military industry. But the addition of seven Chinese companies to the export control list by the US Department of Commerce this time is likely related to the recently passed 2022 Chip and Science Act in the United States. Many of these seven entities are mainly engaged in chip and microelectronics manufacturing, indicating that the United States' suppression of Chinese chips is gradually expanding.

The US Department of Commerce announced on its official website on the 23rd that the US government has added seven Chinese related entities to its export control list on the grounds of "national security" and foreign policy issues. The list released by the US Department of Commerce shows that the seven Chinese entities that were suppressed this time are all related to the aerospace industry. Experts interviewed by Global Times on the 24th said that the US move is likely related to the recently passed 2022 Chip and Science Act.

According to the announcement released by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the US Department of Commerce, this export control will take effect from August 24th, involving seven Chinese entities including the 771 Institute of the Ninth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (Xi'an Microelectronics Technology Research Institute) and Zhuhai Obit Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. BIS stated in its statement that these entities are included in the export control list because their activities are "not in line with US national security and diplomatic interests, especially as these entities attempt to acquire US technology products to support China's military modernization. The US Department of Commerce stated that after being included in the control list, any supplier needs to apply for a license before providing US goods or services to these Chinese entities.
